Who makes Rcpts?

Rcpts is an independent app by Adriaan. There is no Rcpts account, no developer-operated receipt server, and no advertising or tracking service. Adriaan is responsible for this website and for information you voluntarily share when making a contact request.

What stays on your device?

Photos, imported PDFs, recognized text, amounts, notes and any saved locations are kept in the app’s library. Text recognition and optional Apple Intelligence suggestions run locally. Your receipts are not sent to an external AI service. Check suggestions before using them; Rcpts does not make decisions about you based on this information.

Receipts do not sync between devices. They stay until you delete them or erase the app’s data. The library is excluded from automatic device backups. Export an archive to keep your own backup. Losing your device or deleting the app may lose receipts that have not been exported.

What goes to your accounting service?

Connecting an administration is optional. When you send or queue a receipt, Rcpts sends the document and its saved details directly to the Nmbrs Accounting service you connect. That service uses the Yuki web service. The API key and administration ID are needed to authenticate these requests and deliver them to the right administration.

Details may include merchant or supplier, date, amount, currency, payment method and notes. The document itself may also contain personal or financial information. After you choose an administration, a receipt can automatically join the queue after the visible three-minute countdown. Uploads resume when connectivity and background execution allow.

Your accounting provider manages the uploaded copy under its own terms, privacy policy and retention periods. Removing a receipt from Rcpts does not remove that copy from your accounting service. Contact your provider or accountant to do that.

iCloud, Keychain and location

Administration settings, such as names, identifiers, appearance and preferred language, can sync between Apple devices through your iCloud account. API keys are stored securely in Apple Keychain and can sync through iCloud Keychain. The developer does not receive these keys.

Location is optional and requires your permission. It can add a city and map to a receipt. Apple provides location, maps and city lookup. Coordinates are not sent as separate accounting-upload fields. Imported PDFs may retain their original embedded metadata. Apple services are subject to Apple’s privacy policy. You can change location and iCloud access in your system settings.

Import, export and deletion

Importing a PDF creates a copy in the app. Deleting it from Rcpts leaves the original Finder file untouched. You can delete receipts from the library or detail view.

Exported archives contain receipt documents and their details, but no API keys. Rcpts does not encrypt exports itself, so keep them somewhere safe. The developer cannot view or recover your receipts or delete documents from your accounting provider.

This website and contact

This website is static. There are no analytics, tracking cookies, forms or externally loaded fonts. When you visit, the hosting provider receives technically necessary information, such as your IP address, requested page and browser information, to deliver the page and prevent abuse. Any technical logs are kept only as needed for security and operation; the exact retention period depends on the hosting service.

If you get in touch, the information you choose to share is used to answer your request and retained as long as necessary to handle it. This is based on the legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and answering questions. Do not send API keys or unredacted financial documents. Apple may share App Store or TestFlight diagnostics and feedback according to your Apple settings; the app adds no analytics service of its own.

Your choices and rights

You can view, edit, export and delete locally stored receipts yourself. For information processed through a contact request or website visit, you can request access, correction or deletion. Where applicable, you can also object to processing, request restriction or have your data transferred. The developer cannot access your local library or your accounting provider’s copy.
